Magnetic Spices at Hand

Magnetic Spices at Hand From parsley to cinnamon, it's simple for spices to take about your cupboards. To fix this issue, Lauren Davison repurposed baby food jars and flipped them into magnetic spice jars that readily attach to the side of the refrigerator. "They are a great way to keep clutter out of your cupboards, save some time while cooking and add a touch of personality to your kitchen," she states. "Plus, it's easy to get the spice you want and see when you are getting low." Want to create your own? See Lauren's complete tutorial and get step-by-step instructions.

A Clearly Neat Menu Organizer No more stacks of menus stuffed in a junk drawer or hanging on the face of the refrigerator! It is possible to keep those tidy and organized (along with coupons and recipes to test). Simply stick any clear folder or plastic sleeve for paper files to the interior of a cabinet or cabinet door. Or, put one on the wall from the telephone — the look is clean enough to maintain plain sight. Photo courtesy of Cristin Bisbee Priest

Magazine Rack for Pot Lids Obtaining all those pot lids online is a snap with this organization thought from Aimee Wimbush-Bourque. Only screw a metal magazine rack into the back of a cupboard door and arrange lids by size. The sleek design not only makes it effortless to find the appropriate lid but also opens up some additional cabinet space, too.

Loaf Pan for Small Cooking Items You don't have to shell out for new storage containers when you already have some in your cabinets. Aimee Wimbush-Bourque thought out the box (literally!) And came up with this very simple screen for smaller cake-decorating supplies. A classic loaf pan is a chic alternative to plastic containers, and it is a lot easier to pull items out of — no lid demanded!

Soup-er Recycled Storage Have you been canned goods getting lost in the shuffle? If you're tired of toppling towers of cans from the pantry, then try this eco-friendly idea from Amy Williams. Take an old cardboard soda box, coat it in Modge Podge, cover it with decorative paper. Cut an opening at the trunk to restock headphones so that the older ones rotate to the front.

Hang Your Cups To encourage her kids to drink more water, Ginny Sheller had her husband craft this space-saving grinder rack. To make, turn a coat rack on its side, or screw individual hooks to the wall, and assign each little one their own private hook based on their height. What is even better: They will not reach for a new cup every time they get a beverage.

An Elevated Soap Dish Take hand and dish soaps to new heights by putting them all on a cake stand next to the sink. If you don't have an older stand you are prepared to part out of your pastries, try creating one like Natalie Wright did, by gluing a plate atop a wide-based candlestick. It adds an elegant touch to the sink region, while freeing up counter space.

Goodbye, Junk Drawer Whether you have gathered more muffin pans than you inhale with or have found some great classic versions at rummage sales — like this one featured on Vintage Indie — it is time to put them to use. A tray placed in a junk drawer may separate odds and ends in a snap — and store them in place. Or, slide on a cupboard shelf to organize teeny baking supplies, such as food coloring, toothpicks and sprinkles. Photo courtesy of Heather Dutton

Rustic Wine Glass Holder Juxtapose elegant glassware for this rustic, utilitarian idea from Dana Pugh. Simply remove the grip out of any metal rake, anchor the head right to the wall using screws. Flip every glass upside down and then slide the stem between two prongs. Or, instead, use the rake to hang spatulas, wooden spoons or other kitchen utensils.

A "Grate" Pencil or Utensil Holder Save valuable countertop property with this holder for pens and pencils or little kitchen utensils. Simply take an old box grater (you'll need one with dull enough openings to stop cuts) and also fill out the opening at the top with floral foam cut to fit snugly inside. Loop a cable through two holes on one side of the grater then flip it and then hang on the wall. Photo courtesy of Alicia McDonald and Jamie Timmer

Shoe Organizer for Utensils Free some distance from countertops or cabinets with this slick idea: Take an over-the-door shoe organizer from any house goods store and hang it to the pantry door or any other door in the kitchen. (The versions with transparent plastic pockets are best, so contents can easily be observable) Then slip wooden spoons, spatulas, small appliances bites into the slots. A Retro Spin on Place Settings This notion from Green Wedding Shoes will immediately jazz up a birthday celebration or a fun dinner in your home. Just take an assortment of old vinyl records (you may grab a variety for a dime in a flea market) and place them as place mats or chargers for serving meals. Or alternatively, use the album coats instead. Photo courtesy of Jessica Velarde Photography
